Heritage Research Library

The Washington County Historical Society maintains the Heritage Research Library at their building at 167 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY.  The purpose of this collection is to collect, maintain, procure, preserve and display books, pamphlets, maps, charts, manuascripts. papers and any other material that pertain to the history of Washington County and its surrounding environs.   This collection is open to members and the public on Fridays from 12 noon to 4 p.m. or by appointment (518-747-9108).  The materials may be used, noted and photocopied, but we DO NOT circulate any materials.  We invite you to come to look, browse and research.  We invite you to donate any pertinent papers, books, programs, pictures, etc. to our collection.  We want our collection to be a growing picture of Washington County; its people, its history, its business, its agriculture, its recreation, its beauty.
